FlyingFishMail October 2000

Welcome to FlyingFishMail #49 October 2000

Fortune Magazine reports that Flying Fish beer is a "tacit knowledge
accelerant"
We're not quite sure what it means, but it does sound cool! (more details
below)

* NEW FACES @ FLYING FISH
*  BLACKFISH ALE RETURNS
* FORTUNE MAGAZINE AND FLYING FISH
*  MANY, MANY OCTOBEER EVENTS

* NEW FACES @ FLYING FISH

Thanks to your help, we've been growing like crazy. To help keep the beer
flowing we've added two more folks to our brewing staff. Brewer Chris
Rafferty may be familiar to some of you folks. He was the long-time head
brewer at the John Harvard's Brewhouse in Wayne, PA. Chris was looking to
experience the production side of brewing and we're glad he's joined us.
Flying Fish also has a Terrapin on staff. Recent U. of Maryland grad Andy
Maskell comes aboard as a brewery assistant.

*  BLACKFISH ALE RETURNS

The idea for the beer came from an unknown bartender in Virginia who
combined Flying Fish Extra Pale Ale with Flying Fish Porter and christened
it BlackFish. After several inquiries about the beer, we saw it as a great
idea. We didn't just mix two batches however. We tweaked our recipies a bit
and brewed up this special batch that has the robustness of the porter with
the drinkability of the Extra Pale. It's so good, it won the Gold medal at
the 2000 US Real Ale festival.	This rare and elusive beer will be
available only on draft for a short time. Look for it!

* FORTUNE MAGAZINE AND FLYING FISH

You know Flying Fish beers taste great, but did you know we're also a
"tacit knowledge accelerant" and the company beer of e-consultants Viant
Corp. in Boston? Read all about it:
