Welcome to the first newsletter of 1999. Thanks for supporting Flying Fish
last year and we hope to run into you at one of the many festivals coming

* CURE FOR CABIN FEVER--VISIT YOUR LOCAL BREWERIES
Tired of being cooped up? Starting to get the 100-yard stare from too much
football (or lack thereof), why not pack up family and friends and visit a
local craft brewery. Flying Fish conducts free tours/tastings every
Saturday between 1 & 4 pm. Many other breweries do the same. If you're
local to NJ/PA/NY, a good place to find them is http://www.njbeer.org the
Web site of the Garden State Craft Brewers Guild. You can get info on more
than a dozen NJ-based breweries and their offerings.

You're probably sick of hearing about the Year 2000 software bug by now,
but this is something of real value. Really. After extensive testing at
the Flying Fish Year 2000 Headquarters (2FY2KH), we're proud to report that
after midnight next December 31, your bottle of Flying Fish will still be
completely functional--even if the elevator or plane you're riding in is
not. For you survivalists making plans to head for the hills and wait this
whole thing out, you can be assured that the Flying Fish beers you
stockpile will be an exquisite complement to all those canned goods you'll
be eating. If you're in the process of stocking up your shelter, please
call us for special 100-case pricing (note: because of forklift
limitations, we can't deliver to caves with less than 8' clearance).
* HOP PHISH IPA TORPEDO KEG SUPER FOR SUPER BOWL
If you're hosting or attending a Super Bowl party, why mess with a bunch of
empty bottles? A Flying Fish torpedo mini-keg holds almost 2.5 cases of
fresh draft beer and works with a regular Sankey-type tap (loaned out by
your friendly retailer). And what better way to try out the new Hop Phish
India Pale Ale? We've just kegged off the newest batch of this I.P.A.
which features a deep golden color, plenty of hop bitterness balanced by
malt sweetness. Because of the extensive dry hopping, there's a spicy,
fruity hop finish. Lightly filtered to maintain the appropriate body and
flavor, the HopPhish is then keg conditioned for extra character. The beer
features a combination of 5 malts plus a percent or two of wheat for an
extra creamy head. The HopPhish also uses five hop varieties and has been
dry-hopped for three weeks with Mt. Hood and Ahtanum leaf hops. Total
aging time has been five weeks, not counting keg conditioning time.
You can order a 5.2 gallon Torpedo keg from any local liquor store in NJ or
beer distributor in PA (Philadelphia region, Lehigh Valley, Reading and
Harrisburg). If you have trouble locating one, give us a call at the
brewery (609-489-0061) and we'll help out. You can also find the ESB,
Extra Pale Ale, Porter and Abbey Dubbel in the Torpedos as well.
