Nationally renowned chef Jim Coleman has selected Flying Fish beers to
complement the special Brews of Summer Dinner he is hosting at the Treetops
Restaurant in Philadelphia's Rittenhouse Hotel on July 30. And what a dinner
it is! Coleman, who also hosts public radio's "A Chef's Table," will prepare
a selection of phenomenal dishes each paired with an equally phenomenal
Flying Fish beer. Check out the full menu at

After getting megabytes of suggestions for the Flying Fish newspaper, we've
narrowed it down to 3 choices. Here's your chance to vote for one of the
three (or provide a write-in). Since we had a lot of similar nominations,
we're going to take the names of everyone who suggested a name or votes and
through the miracle of random selection, award some cool fishwear to some
lucky folks.

announced in the August newsletter. And yes, just like elections in Chicago,

* 3RD VIRTUAL --> REALITY EVENT THE REAL THING
Thanks to everyone who came out to the brewery on July 2 for our 3rd in an
inconsistent series of private gatherings open just to those on our e-mail
list. More than a few hundred folks came out to sample the newest batch of
Farmhouse Ale, a one-of-a-kind aged keg of Belgian Abbey Dubbel and the rest
of the Flying Fish lineup. For a special treat, we even broke out the
Pepperidge Farm Goldfish to accompany our bottomless bowl of pretzels!
Some of you have made all three tastings, going back to 1996. Actually, a
few of you may have stayed at the brewery since the first one ;-) For
others, it was a first, regardless, it's a great way to put a face to a .com
address. If you missed this event, stay tuned for another one this Fall to
celebrate. . .well, you'll just have to wait to find out.
* SINK BARBECUE BOREDOM WITH A FLYING FISH TORPEDO KEG
Become the beer god or goddess at your next picnic when you tap a Flying Fish
torpedo keg. Impress your friends and neighbors as your pour a delightful
brewery fresh Extra Pale Ale, ESB or Farmhouse Summer Ale--without the
backbreaking labor of lugging a full-sized keg around. These 5.2 gallon kegs
contain approximately 2.5 cases of beer and work with a regular Sankey-type
tap (loaned out by your friendly retailer).
Torpedo kegs are available throughout New Jersey and in Chester, Lehigh and
Northampton Counties in Pennsylvania. You may also have luck getting them in
Virginia from Richmond on south. Some of the bigger stores in South Jersey
carry them in stock, but any retailer can order it for you in a matter of
days. If you're getting stuck finding one, call us at the brewery, we can't
sell kegs directly, but we can help you find a retailer who will.
