* NEW BEERS: PORTER AND BELGIAN DUBBEL

After highly successful introductions last year, our Porter and Belgian
Dubbel have joined our flagship ESB and Extra Pale Ale as full-time
offerings, doubling our product line. They will be available both in 12
oz. bottle and kegs. What's unique is that both of these beers will be
bottled conditioned, a first for East Coast microbreweries. Although it's
a lot more difficult to pull off (as we learned while we were in the middle
of it), bottle conditioning offers a complexity in flavor that you can't
achieve any other way.

The first beers were shipped out last Friday, so you can be expecting them
at the usual places very soon. Here's the details on the beers:

--Flying Fish Porter
A robust, smooth and full bodied with prominent chocolate notes. Five
different malts from both the U.S. and Belgium and three varieties of hops
(all from the Pacific Northwest) are required to give the beer its unique
character. The beer is also bottle-conditioned, the only porter brewed
east of the San Andreas Fault to be so--and just think what that means if
California ever does get hit with the big earthquake ;-)

Alcohol by volume: 5.5%; Bittering: 25 IBU; Original gravity: 1.055

--Flying Fish Belgian Abbey Dubbel
Flying Fish Belgian Abbey Dubbel is an exceptionally complex beer with many
interwoven flavors. This classic-style Abbey beer features an immense head
with a fruity nose and a generous body. Malty in the middle, the beer
features a clean, almondy dry finish and a slight alcohol warmth. More
like a wine than a beer-it's bigger than a Bordeaux or Burgundy. The beer
is bottle-conditioned and, as far as we know, it's also the only beer in
the United States to be brewed with the traditional Belgian triple
fermentation process, where three different strains of yeast are added to
impart the character unique to this style.

Beer writer Michael Jackson has praised the Flying Fish Dubbel as "a
wonderful example of the style."

Alcohol by volume: 7.3%; Bittering: 20 IBU; Original gravity: 1.064

* WE MADE IT THROUGH OUR FIRST YEAR!

August 19 marked the anniversary of our first brew and except for a few
more gray hairs and a few extra pounds, everyone has come through
remarkably well. We'd like to thank everybody who's supported the beers,
stopped by for a visit, or sent us e-mail. We're in this to make products
people enjoy and it's gratifying to know we're off to a pretty good start.

We've been looking to do another internet-only tasting event at the
brewery, so look for an invitation in your e-mail box later this month or
early next.

*  UPCOMING FLYING FISH EVENTS

Thanks to your support, Flying Fish is getting out into more and more places
and doing more and more events (hey, it's the only way we get out of the
brewery). Anyway, here are some upcoming dates and places where you can

AND FINALLY. . .
--October 2-4 Great American Beer Festival in Denver, CO

our beers and hope to meet a lot of you who haven't tried us yet.
There's a lot more to come, so keep checking: http://flyingfish.com/live.html

*  CASK-CONDITIONED BEER UPDATE

If you haven't tried a cask version of our ESB, Extra Pale Ale or porter,
you're due for a treat. Cask beers are "living" in that they have some
yeast still in them as well as some extra hops for aroma and flavor. Once
they're tapped, they continue to evolve, so that the last pint in the keg
is remarkably different from the first. Currently, you can find casks at
PJ McMennimins, Dawson Street Pub and Copa TOO! in Philadelphia and Issac
Newton's in Newtown. In New Jersey, you can find casks at Andy's Corner
Bar in Bogota and The Old Bay in New Brunswick. In Virgina, get it at
Greenleaves in Williamsburg.

*  FIND US THROUGHOUT VIRGINIA

After getting a great response from folks in Southern Virginia, we thought
we should let the rest of the state check out the Fish. You can now find
Flying Fish at Fresh Fields (try saying that 3 times fast!) and Total
Beverage outlets. We also just sent some kegs down, so look--or ask--for
it in the usual places. Have any great locations that we should be in?
Send us an e-mail: news@flyingfish.com

We'll post more locations as soon as we know them ourselves. If you can't
wait, give our distributor there, Select Wines, a call: 703-631-8100

*  A FLYING AND A FISH TALE

Flying Fish fan Steve Peak was at Disney World with his wife and two
daughters and was dying to get a picture in front of the Flying Fish Cafe.
Unfortunately, when they had dinner--and an Extra Pale Ale or two--they had
forgotten to take the shot. On the day they were leaving Steve decided to
get the picture, despite his wife's warning that they were getting close to
flight time. Bottom line is, he got the shot, missed the flight, had to
spend $200 to change his tickets and ran up to us at a promo event and
asked to put the pix on the Web. Was it worth all that trouble? We think
so: http://flyingfish.com/WorldTour.html

Now you can own your very own Flying Fish bumper sticker. Just send us a
SASE (business sized) and we'll drop one off to you. Send it to: Flying
Fish Brewing, 18 Olney Avenue, Cherry Hill, NJ 08003
